Hofskirkja turf church: built in 1884, one of 6 turf churches still remaining. It is partially buried allowing under stone and turf to create warmth as most of the timber was felled by early Nordic settlers.
Diamond beach: We had been two days prior, We had to backtrack to safety while the storm passed. There was no ice on the beach that day. However the storm washed heaps of ice down. It was flowing fast. Glacier melt. Very gloomy day.
Vestrahorn and Viking Village: The 454m high mountain was spectacular, despite being overshadowed by low lying clouds. So the reflection shot only shows half the image. Impressive nonetheless. The Viking village at the base was constructed by a film company in 2009 as a movie set. Much of it built with driftwood and old telephone poles.
