Day 1: We arrived without incident at Keflavik airport and caught the FlyBus shuttle to our accommodation, Hotel Aska, in downtown Reykjavik. Quirky little hotel, self check-in, simple, no frills, perfect! Found a 'beer garden' restaurant for dinner, then booked a 48 hour Hop on - Hop off bus so we could see the sights of Reykjavik over the next couple of days.

Day 2: Did the full loop of the bus route to get our bearings then hopped off to see a few sights. Highlights were the rainbow street and Hallgrimskirkja church, astounding architecture resembling the basalt columns found throughout Iceland. Dinner at a delightful restaurant around the corner from our hotel, Potturinn og Pannan. Very popular, fully booked, and very delicious.

Rainbow street, Harpa concert hall, Babalu coffee shop, colourful bakery and Hallgrimskirkja Church.

Day 3: More exploring Reykjavik. Sun Voyager art installation, Harpa concert hall where we did a volcano fly over experience. Perlan Museum was interesting with a volcano show and ice experience, the highlight of the day.
